the raincoat is really cute and I think the reason they did it is because it is really hard to find a raincoat like that today....most little children never own a raincoat, they go from car to bus to bus to school....I tried to find a raincoat for my DG and people were looking at me funny.....but I also would love to see a real winter coat for Molly........I dont think I would buy the raincoat...but who knows....

They usually only have them in the spring, but Gymboree usually has one or 2 different rain coats for girls sizes 3-9, and even online now in 10-12. I forget the pattern but last year it was a clear vinyl with a print on it. Matching umbrellas and rainboots too!
My daughter wears a bright red one with white polka dots, has a hood and matching umbrella with red poppies all over it, very cute!
If you don't have a store close to you, they are also online.

My children used to play in the rain a lot so we have plenty of raincoats from Penney's, KMart and Lands' End. I even have one from Northern Exposure(?), a store in the mall in Baton Rouge. They are so much easier than trying to get little ones to hold an umbrella or worse, share an umbrella!
